Case Study 1: Together they stand
Client
Alliance Imaging, Inc., the largest provider of mobile medical imaging services in the U.S. with 1,900 full-time employees.
Crisis
In the midst of an industry-wide evolution Alliance Imaging realized they had a fragmented company culture and a highly decentralized environment. Management knew many of the company-wide changes they needed to make to stay on top of the industry. However, educating their workforce about these changes proved to be a major challenge. In addition, they also had the challenge of getting a skeptical workforce to culturally buy-in to the changes and make them happen on a local level.
Accessing Wisdom and Power
The Foster Mobley Group worked with senior leadership to help them define the next evolution of their corporate culture. We also guided them through the process of learning how to lead these changes. This included partnering with the company leaders to guide them through diagnosing their strengths and challenges. Our guidance also helped them devise a strategy to unify the culture and improve the performance of the organization's leaders and entire employee base.
FMG continued developing the company’s leadership wisdom through assessment, coaching, education sessions and team development retreats.
Stronger Through Unity
Alliance Imaging, Inc. now has a unified company culture supported by a widespread workforce. Employees are more engaged, committed and consistent in their work lives and work performance. FMG facilitated the employee buy-in and the culture change process to be completed inside of two years. They also obtained a much clearer vision of their internal leadership potential allowing them to foster growth from within.
Alliance Imaging had the intelligence and vision required to determine how to stay on top in their industry. However, they needed FMG’s help clearing the path to reach that new point on the horizon.
Case Study 2: From Cliff’s Edge to Mountain Top
Client
DaVita, a kidney dialysis services provider with 1200+ clinics and 28,000+ employees.
Crisis
DaVita found themselves in the middle of a major crisis. Mere weeks away from what seem to be catastrophic financial insolvency the CEO initiated a drastic turnaround. The Foster Mobley Group was brought in to help them diagnose and develop a cultural resurgence.
Breaking Through
We guided five multi-disciplinary teams through the discovery of industry best practices used by the highest performing service cultures across the country.
We helped them organize their findings and trained 1100 company-wide leaders on implementing the new practices into their culture. This comprehensive training process allowed them to educate their entire workforce on these findings. We also designed and delivered 7 leadership development workshops to strengthen the abilities of leaders to carry on the culture. This allowed the company to replicate these new best practices and leadership techniques throughout the company as a whole.
Back on Top
Now, DaVita is seen as a standard bearer for healthcare service providers with their often-modeled “DaVita Way.” DaVita saw its annual revenues rise from $1.4 billion to $5 billion and their stock price explode from a mere $2 per share to over $70. Plus, employee turnover dropped from 53% to 23% in less than three years. That’s a long way from the edge of the cliff.
Like most of our clients, DaVita already had the expertise, resources, and strength-of-will within grasp. They just needed FMG’s perspective and Wisdom Leading™ to break through.
Case Study 3: Game off, game on.
Client
UCLA Athletics, Softball Program
Crisis
A first-time head coach of UCLA’s renowned women’s softball program was struggling with getting expected results. Having failed to take the 12-time NCAA Champions to the Women’s College World Series for the first time in the sport’s 24-year history was a major sign.
Believing in Success…
…and succeeding in believing. FMG worked closely with the head coach and designed a five-step plan to reach breakthrough leadership by:
- Achieving clarification of her leadership beliefs, identifying her areas of focus, and developing her personal presence.
- Reorganizing the structures, systems and standards of the team’s program
- Creating buy-in of new changes beginning with the coaching staff who encouraged the buy-in of players and other stakeholders.
- Developing new accountability systems for behavior on and off the field.
- Developing and implementing clear communication and branding strategies for the leader and the team.
Positioned for peace and power
The relationships and culture of the team has vastly improved. The head coach is now a more peaceful and resolute leader that inspires confidence in staff and team members. The joy and passion of the game has returned to the team, an enthusiasm promoted from the top down.
While skilled at athletics and experienced enough to lead a world-class team a coach found herself off her game. However, with FMG’s Wisdom Leading™ methods and personal coaching, this coach is back to loving what she does and fostering excellence and passion in others.
