Q: How much easier would your choices be if you listened to the clarity of your inner wisdom?
At 56, I'm plunked squarely in middle age. Brain's not sure, body's positive.
I can't hear like I once did. The years of travel and living have taken their toll. At the same time, I've noticed that the shrillest noises are tuned out. I tend to get less triggered by others' comments, emotional displays or inflammatory words. I'm able to ignore some of the same "noise" that had me, at earlier ages, operate reactively - at less than my full wisdom.
I'm convinced that it doesn't take years, gray hairs and diminished hearing to unlock one's wisdom. Rather, tuning out the shrill noises of fear, anxiety and emotion requires only that the signal of one's inner voice be tuned up, loud and clear.
